The most successful people in life are disciplined. Discipline is made up of the basic tools we use to cope with lifes problems and challenges. Scott Peck in his book The Road Less Traveled says that without discipline we can solve nothing.

SMAN 15 Surabaya cares about discipline problems. Some methods being done to increase students discipline. One of methods is flag ceremony. Flag ceremony is held every monday at 6.30 am. All students must arrive before 6.30 am. If the students come late, they will receive punishment. If the students do not wear complete uniform, they have to make line in front of basketball yard. Beside discipline, Flag ceremony has some other benefits to students. There are patriotism and religion value. In raising red and white flag, all participants must give respect to the flag. There contained Patriotism value. Then when moment of silence, all participants pray together to the hero that died when fight again enemy holding independendence of Indonesia. There are contained religion value. So in flag ceremony there are many good values for student especially discipline.

The other methods is fingerprintscanner. Every morning every student must put his finger in fingerprint machine and when they will return to home they must absent again. It effective to increase student discipline, because they can manipulate absent. The newest is fingerprintscanner in mosque. After pray they must put his finger in machine, machine will record the data. If the student doesnt pray they will receive punishment from the school. The purpose is make students pray on time. It will make student dont pray when lesson start, so the school activities can run well. So SMAN 15 Surabaya is the good school because the teacher cares about discipline because without discipline we can solve nothing.
